Slighe nan Gàidheal is a non-profit educational society that teaches and promotes the Scottish Gaelic language and culture in the Pacific Northwest.
Please join us for a full day of Scottish Gaelic!
Our Zero to Gaelic (Z2G) program is getting underway. We offer three levels of progressive instruction plus our Ceum Suas group for ongoing and advanced learners, with immersion activities throughout the levels. Intensive Days are offered on the first Saturday of each month, from September through May.
We meet north of the University of Washington, about 6 miles/minutes, for a day of active language learning, 9:30am - 3:30pm. We have participants who join us from as far as Oregon & near the Canadian border.
Upcoming Zero to Gaelic Class Dates
Our 2017-2018 ZtG season has wrapped up, but our next season of classes will start in the Fall 2018, with the first class on October 6th. Register for classes below.

Gaelic Music: Seirm
If you are interested in singing in Gaelic and/or playing an instrument, we welcome you to join Seirm, the music branch of our organization. We meet on Monday evenings from 7 pm - 9 pm, September through May in the Lake City area of N. Seattle. Our new season begins September 10th.
No previous experience with Gaelic is necessary since we work on pronunciation as part of learning the songs and have recordings of each song for practicing at home. We learn about a dozen Gaelic songs each season, some of which we sing a cappella and others that are accompanied by our group of instrumentalists. The band also learns several Scottish dance tune sets to play for céilidh dancing.
Please contact Seirm if you would like to join or have any questions.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the Gaelic Education Committee using the form provided.
Or call our message line at (206) 903-9452.
