Do you have Scottish roots and want to learn to speak in their native tongue? Do you listen to Celtic music and love the language, but can't understand it? Whether you have a cultural connection, or just want to learn Scottish Gaelic for its own sake, here's your chance!
We offer three levels of progressive instruction, plus our Ceum Suas group for ongoing and advanced learners, with immersion activities throughout the levels.
Our Gaelic Intensive Day (GID) program includes 6 all-day classes on Saturdays:
Dates: Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 1, 2018 and Feb. 2, March 2, April 6, 2019
Time: 9:30am - 3:30pm
Location:Lake City Presbyterian Church in Seattle (3841 NE 123rd St.)
We use the reference textbook, Scottish Gaelic in Twelve Weeks (with audio CD) by Roibeard Ó Maolalaigh, available for sale at the first class for $25. It is also available online, and with and without the audio CD. We strongly encourage you to buy the one with the CD so you can practice in between classes.
Choose one of 3 options to register for the GID classes:
1. Single-day registration: $60 for each individual GID.
This is a great option to "give it a try" to see if you like it. You will also have the opportunity to upgrade to an Annual or Jumbo Pass after the first class.
2. Annual Pass: $285 Includes the full season of 6 GIDs (a savings of $75 over single day registration)
3. Jumbo Pass: $360 Includes full season of 6 GIDs + 2 Language Enrichment Days (LEDs)
(a savings of $120 (that’s 2 free LEDs) plus a guaranteed place for the LED days)
